Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?

  • It is a way of talking about: how you think about yourself, the world and other people.
  • How what you do affects your thought and feelings.

Cognitive Behvaioural Therapy can help you to change how you think ('Cognitive') and what you do ('Behaviour'). These changes can help you to feel better. Unlike some of the other talking treatments, it focuses on the 'here and now' problems and difficulties. Instead of focusing on the causes of your distress or symptoms in the past, it looks for ways to improve your state of mind now.

Services I Offer. 5 parts to CBT

Solution-Focused Therapy

What is Solution-focused Therapy?
This - also known as solution-focused brief therapy or brief therapy - is an approach to psychotherapy based on solution-building rather than problem-solving. Although it acknowledges present problems and past causes, it predominantly explores an individual's current resources and future hopes. This can help them to look forward and use their own strengths to achieve their goals.
